Just over a month ago, I celebrated the big 2-8. 2 more years until the big 3-0.
I don’t find the idea of turning 30 intimidating. A lot of my friends are currently hitting that milestone (Hubby’s turn is in November), so it’s made me think. Of course I want my life all figured out YESTERDAY, but realistically I seem to have a good thing going. That being said, there are certain things I would love to accomplish in the next few years (prior to offspring) and what better way to keep myself accountable than putting it in writing. on the interwebs. for all to see. I’d better not disappoint. I will, of course, keep you posted

- Host a formal dinner party
- Take a cross country road trip
- Get back in shape/live healthier
Buy a ‘big girl’ camera(completed June 2012)Take a photography class (to learn how to use said ‘big girl’ camera)(completed June 2012)- Start an etsy shop
- Have my home featured on a notable blog
- Have a room I designed featured on a notable blog
- Design a residential space that doesn’t belong to a friend or family member
- Build a piece of furniture
- Attend a blog conference
- Meet a blogger and/or designer that I admire
- Guest post on another blog
- Run another 5k (without knee issues)
- Visit Europe
- Go camping
- Visit the Brooklyn Flea Market
- Picnic in Central Park
- Get a 2nd tattoo (that is meaningful)
- Redesign my blog myself
- Visit New Orleans
- Explore my hometown
- Reupholster a chair (not just a cushion)
- Create an organized, creative, project/work area
- “Finish” designing our house
- Take a dance class
- Procrastinate less
- Take a weekend ski trip with Hubby
- Go cross country skiing
- Give blood
A friend of my did this – but did it in 30 days and did crazy things like trapeze lessons and eating exotic foods. Let me know if you want to chat with her for advice.
That’s cool! Did she post it anywhere online or blog or anything? I’d love to check out her adventures
Hi Karen, found your blog through BY2.0 and wanted to say hi! I love your blog so far, and am really enjoying your tales of interior design. It’s a new passion of mine, so am always impressed by someone who is doing so well!
Since you want accountability, and were looking for new things to do on the blog, how about you merge the two? Do a blog piece every now and again about what you’re crossing off the list, and tips for those of us who need to get our butts in gear.
That was the plan!
Great idea. I have less than a year to go now and I’ve been considering making the list. Now you’ve inspired me and I’ll have to blog about it too.
Glad I could inspire! Can’t wait to check out your list
Love this! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1075766368/30-before-30-traveling-under-the-influence
She did blog about it – here you go! http://justmeandthirty.wordpress.com/2011/03/page/2/
First off the last 2 blog posts have been really really good, while they are always a good read the latest 2 seem just more Karen to me. I can imagine you saying what you have written in a conversation I guess
I haven’t given blood in years, but after my surgery I fee like I owe the universe. I was willing to accept blood if I needed it, so I should be willing to give it too. Take care, and I’ll see you this weekend at Lily’s concert! -K
Secondly, If you are looking for a giving blood buddy I can so that, as long as you don’t mind waiting until I’m finished nursing. I can only have one thing draining my life force at a time
It’s a date!
